Getting Started
In this chapter you?ll see why CSS positioning is important and be introduced to some of the fundamental concepts. You?ll learn how to set up and use an HTML editor, preview pages in multiple browsers, and install browser extensions.

The Browser Team
In this chapter we?ll focus on HTML and CSS: what each one does, and how they work together to position content in the browser.

Building the Header Area
In this chapter we?ll begin creating an example web page by working on the header. We?ll plan the layout, build the header box, and position content with HTML and CSS.

Adding the Navigation Menu
The next item to build on the page is the navigation menu that will go below the header image. In this chapter we?ll set up the menu box, add links, and format the menu to make it look nice.

Creating the Middle Column
The design for this web page contains three columns: the navigation menu and two columns of content. Now that the web page has the header and menu area, in this chapter we will move on to add the first content column (the middle column on the page) and drop the text content into this new column.

Creating the Right Column
In this chapter we?ll add the final (right) column, which will contain both text and images, to the web page.

Positioning Using a Float
When working with CSS positioning, it is important to understand the float property, which allows content to move easily into a column structure. In this chapter you?ll learn how to apply and finish a float.

Adding Background Colors and Images
In order to make the web page match the original graphic design, we need to add background colors and images. In this chapter you?ll see how to do this using a footer, the clear property, nested divs, and negative CSS property values.

Adding the Final Touches
In this chapter we?ll apply a few finishing touches to our web page, modifying some rules for text and the background color, applying some new rules, and adding interactivity.

The lessons are wrapped in a feature-rich interface that lets you jump to any topic and bookmark individual sections for later review. Full-Screen mode provides a hi-def, immersive experience, and Watch-and-Work mode shrinks the video into a small window so you can play the videos alongside your application. Brooks remarkably identifies and articulates the nuances and unconsidered realities of what a zombie war would look like. This intriguing "oral history" stands apart from his previous zombie-related book, The Zombie Survival Guide, as Brooks uses the postwar culture here to provide political and social commentary on a wide range of real-life individuals and institutions. An all-star cast including Alan Alda, Mark Hamill, Jrgen Prochnow, Henry Rollins, John Turturro, Rob and Carl Reiner, and many others deliver their parts with such fervor and intensity that listeners cannot help but empathize with these characters. Max Brooks acts as the interviewer, providing an inquisitive but stagnant demeanor. The abridgment keeps the story tight but struggles with the interviewer's narration during interviews. When Brooks interrupts characters to indicate that the person rolled his eyes or appeared apprehensive, his comments are often moot because the performers are already portraying such body language with their tone.

Beyond Good and Evil: Prelude to the Philosophy of the Future is basically a summary of Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophies and basic predictions for the future. First published in 1886, the book is made up of nearly three hundred statements ranging from one-line aphorisms to "rants" that are several pages in duration. In his book, Nietzsche denounces what he considers to be the meaningless moralities of nineteenth century scholars and thinkers. He criticizes his contemporaries for following Christianity and its morals without question. Essentially, Nietzsche has written Beyond Good and Evil as a critique of philosophy, religion, science, politics, and ethics. He feels that his contemporaries are proceeding in the wrong direction; he has no qualms about revealing their mistakes.

Because of Nietzsche's attitudes and criticism toward his contemporaries, Beyond Good and Evil functions as a note to future thinkers, a warning per se about what is to come and what to avoid. However, it is apparent that Nietzsche had plenty of advice for his audience; quite possibly even too much. Though Nietzsche touched on important themes such as truth and morality, his somewhat manic and cyclic style, as well as the abundance of information that he included in his book transformed what was intended to be a manual for future thinkers into a chaotic diatribe in which too many ideas are presented.

Beyond Good and Evil is one of Nietzsche's most important works and, although it is relatively easy to read, it is one of the more difficult to fully grasp on a first reading. The thesis is, as the title alludes, that morality is ultimately relativistic - that right and wrong are not absolutes but are considerably flexible - and variable in different societies at all times.

Although he qualifies his views as opinions rather than facts and asks his readers to examine his premises critically before agreeing with his views, Nietzsche leaves no doubt that he is confident that all previous philosophers were wrong about important precepts and he alone is right. His criticism of his immediate predecessors is somewhat more restrained than in some of his other works and directs his harshest criticism at Plato for his fabrications of "Pure Spirit and Transcendental Goodness."

Nietzsche was fervently opposed the prevailing religious concepts of morality. His reputation as being anti-Christian was, and still is, sufficient grounds to inspire considerable criticism of his philosophy. As much as his critics might disagree with Nietzsche's philosophy, they cannot simply dismiss it. Nietzsche intelligence and persuasiveness make him a formidable figure in field of moral philosophy. His influence on modern philosophical theory is considerable and it is likely that his contributions will continue to inspire controversy for some time to come.
